Working Better with Online Tools

Yesterday morning, I drove up to Baltimore for a morning presentation at ABAG with Buffy Beaudoin-Schwartz on online tools that can make your work life easier.  We didn’t get to cover all of these with the group, but I wanted to share them with you because they all have value when it comes to lightening your workload.

Organizing Your Day

Doodle.com – easy meeting scheduler
Dashboards – manage what you want to know about
Mobile Apps – mobile management via smartphones
Google Desktop – search and organize your computer desktop

Organizing Your Information

Wikis – online program management
Google Alerts – regular updates on particular topics via email
RSS Feeds – organize information that you receive via blogs and other sources
Flickr – web photo organizer and presentation tool
Zamzar – free online file conversion

Sharing Your Information

Slideshare – easy, free online presentation sharing
Eventbrite – broadcast emails, invitations and announcements, and integrate with social media
ReadyTalk – host a conference call w/the capability to tape and to have a visual presentation
Animoto – makes photos into a video with music w/out having to shoot video
Skype – run a program off Skype for business meetings or present a speaker
UStream – use for live video streaming for events
Facebook and Twitter – top social media tools to inform and engage about your work

What tools have you discovered recently that are making your work easier?
