Northern California Grantmakers (NCG) has launched Snapshots of Philanthropy, a year-long series that aims to better demonstrate the scope and impact of NCG’s members’ work. Initially developed in response to member requests to help them share their stories, these short “snapshots” showcase the positive impact organized philanthropy has in northern California. In addition to sharing them with members and partners, NCG plans to use them to educate external audiences about NCG members’ funding choices and what changes are happening as a result of these investments.
The Snapshot series is the kick-off of a year-long celebration of NCG’s 30th Anniversary throughout 2011. You can read the following snapshots online:
- Snapshot 1: S.H. Cowell Foundation (PDF)
- Snapshot 2: Horizons Foundation (PDF)
- Snapshot 3: The James Irvine Foundation (PDF)
NCG joins other regionals who have published their own snapshots of philanthropy in their regions in recently like San Diego Grantmakers, Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers, and Donors Forum of Wisconsin.
