Nina Stack, president of the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers has been appointed Chairperson of the Forum of Regional Association of Grantmakers. Stack’s appointment came at the Forum’s Annual Meeting on August 2, 2011 and lasts for one year. “The Forum’s board, staff, and membership are excited to welcome Nina Stack as our incoming Board Chair. As we continue to grow and strengthen the Forum of Regional Association of Grantmakers as a leading national network in American philanthropy, we are grateful that Nina will bring her considerable experience and leadership to this position. Her steady vision and skill sets are just what are need at this moment in the Forum’s evolution and development.” said Michael Litz, President and CEO of the Forum.
“This appointment is a personal honor for me, but more importantly, it is a testament to the great strides made within New Jersey’s philanthropic sector. Over the past few years, we’ve been able to implement a number of innovative programs in our state.” Stack looks forward to expanding The Forum’s relationships with the Council on Foundations and the Foundation Center, as well as other organizations across the country that serve funders.
Stack has been president of the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers (CNJG) since 2005. CNJG supports its members by strengthening their capacity to address New Jersey and society’s most difficult problems. It also accesses the resources of the philanthropic community – funding, expertise, leverage – to provide leadership on statewide issues. Past leadership efforts include a study of healthcare conversions and their philanthropic legacies, creating access to philanthropic dollars in underserved communities, and partnering with the State to pilot a highly regarded national model that addresses crime prevention through youth development.
Prior to joining CNJG, Stack spent ten years as Director of External Affairs for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a post she held during three different tenures beginning in 1988. In addition to her government work, she has held marketing and communications leadership positions within several New Jersey nonprofit organizations.
In her role as the Forum’s chairperson, Stack will also fill an ex-officio seat on the Board of Directors for the Council on Foundations.
